Pitcairn's Island
"Pitcairn's Island", by Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall, published by Little, Brown, and Company in 1935. Is a biographical account of the mutinous crew of the H.M.S. Bounty once they arrive at Pitcairn's Island. The story walks through the arrival of the mutineer's to the island with their Tahitian concubines and native servants to their decent into alcoholism and savage murder and finally into the redemption of a single Bible that the last surviving male member of the crew had learned to read from another member of the crew. This is wonderful book and well worth the read but be prepared for brutality and betrayal that await within this books pages.
